Coconut oil is very versatile.  It has a melting point of about 72F so I store it in different jars for different weather: a short, wide-mouthed jar so it could be scooped out when solid; and a small flip-top bottle for when it is liquid.

  1. Cooking. It has a high smoke point of 350F, which means the point when the oil begins to burn and smoke. You can use it to cook, bake or sauté. It's the main oil I use in baking sweets.

  2. Raw ingredient. You can use it in recipes for raw desserts.

  3. Personal Lubricant. It is anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal; it won't cause infections or irritation. Fractionated coconut oil has the convenience of staying liquid for easy use despite cold weather; it’s a great option to use for sex.

  4. Yeast infections. See #3. Coconut oil is one of many natural ingredients used to help get rid of yeast infections.

  5. Make up remover & skin care. Apply with a cotton pad and it will wipe off make up very easily. You can use this one product to remove make-up, nourish the skin and add a healthy glow all at the same time.

    If you are planning on re-applying makeup or making corrections, coconut oil won’t be a good option since it will cause make-up to run, so use lotion instead. It's best to clean off make-up with coconut oil before bed.

  6. Dryness & skin cleansing. Apply to skin for a beautiful glow and it will also draw out impurities. While scrubbing in the shower, you'll visibly see much more dirt, grime and dead skin. Try it, you'll see what I mean. You can also use it on chapped lips, cellulite and stretch marks--I can't personally vouch for these last two, but my skin is definitely smoother, clearer and more even in color.

    During a cold or allergy, use it to soothe a runny nose that is irritated from constant blowing and wiping

  7. Hair product. Use it to give dull hair some shine. Be sure to add very little at a time. It’s much easier to add more than take away and you don't want hair that is too oily. Focus more on the ends since the roots tend to build up oil from the scalp.

  9. Turmeric paste. Alleviate symptoms of inflammation like neuropathy and arthritis by making a turmeric paste.

  10. Oil pulling. Draw out toxins by taking 1-2 tablespoons orally, swishing it around for 15-20 minutes. This will draw out oral bacteria and toxins, so do not swallow and do not spit it into the toilet! Be sure to spit it out into the trash.

  11. Supports the immune system. "Coconut oil is made up of healthy fats lauric acid, caprylic acid and capric acid which contain antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral properities to boost the immune system. Lauric acid contains the highest concentration of MCFA fatty acids, approximately 75 percent.
